Kim McNeil
Before yoga Kim swam competitively at the national level. After Kim retired
she tried kickboxing, karate, and knitting but nothing seemed to fill the gap
left by swimming. As a last resort while working at a fitness club, Kim took
her first yoga class in 1998. The rest, as they say, is history.
A home-grown Montreal girl, Kim started practicing there over 12 years ago.
Kim has since trained with Geeta Iyengar and several senior Iyengar teachers
from Canada, the US, and the UK including my current teacher, Margot
Kitchen. Based out of Calgary now, Kim has been teaching Iyengar yoga for
over 5 years.
Causes close to her heart are Power of Movement fundraiser for arthritis
research for which she is an ambassador and Yoga Thrive therapeutic yoga for
cancer survivors.
Most importantly, Kim loves teaching.
